SciWIn-Studio

SciWIn-Studio is a Tauri v2 app: a Rust backend plus a SvelteKit/Svelte 5 frontend. It lives in its own repository and depends on the sciwin and commonwl crates from their sibling repos, so building it from source means having all three checked out side by side.

Cloning the repository

Prerequisites

Building SciWIn-Studio needs Rust, Node.js, and the Tauri CLI’s native dependencies:

  • The Tauri CLI itself (@tauri-apps/cli) is already a devDependency, installed via npm install.
  • On Linux, npx tauri dev/build need GTK/WebKit system packages: libgtk-3-dev, libglib2.0-dev, libwebkit2gtk-4.1-dev, build-essential, curl, wget, file, libxdo-dev, libssl-dev, libayatana-appindicator3-dev, librsvg2-dev.
  • On macOS or Windows, follow the Tauri prerequisites guide for your platform.

Build and run

npx tauri dev      # full app in dev mode (backend + frontend, hot reload)
npx tauri build    # production bundle

npm run dev on its own starts only the SvelteKit dev server, without the Tauri window, useful for quick frontend-only iteration.

For linting and tests, matching CI:
